Most of us have read this quote and seen it credited to Charles Darwin. It was indeed inspired by his work, but the words themselves were written by a businessman named Leon C. Megginson.
Of course, because this quote is attributed to someone as famous as Darwin, it has travelled much further around the world then it would have if not pinned to someone famous. Therefore, you could say that this quote has adapted for survival too.
My story of adapting, sadly, doesn’t involve me riding on the coattails of a famous mind. It is a simple story of pushing against my fears and reentering the world of employment, as a once-sworn lone wolf forever.
The last time I had been employed, I swore it would be my last. I would have done anything to stay a self-employed freelancer, safe from the tyranny of another bad boss.
