I Got My Gritty Approach to Life All Wrong

Here’s where I should have been pushing

I have always had the ability to push myself to my limits. It’s how I escaped my abusive childhood home and made a life for myself at 16.

This is how I’ve got through almost all of my big challenges in life, from a toxic marriage to putting myself through Uni and starting my own business.

Recently, I began to feel very burnt out (again) and started seeing a counsellor.

It is worth sharing that this counsellor was free of charge to me, covered by my job. Without this service, I could not have afforded to go back to therapy.

You see, my financial problems are front and centre of my life drama right now.

The start of the slippery slope

Just before that sneaky little virus took over the world, I had been running my own one-man-band business as a freelance marketing manager. I was 4.5 years in, and just starting to make decent income.

However, the journey there had been long, and I’d used credit cards to help me get there.

When Covid shut the world down, all my clients were hit, and I lost my income. I used my grit to get me through.
