Good marketing isn’t the dark art that many people seem to think it is. Good marketing is simple, strong and effective.

As a marketer, you just need to be creative, consistent and persistent.

I’ve been a content marketer for the last 8 years, and a lot of the social media side of things has greatly evolved since my early days. I know this feels overwhelming to a lot of people. But here’s why it’s not really a big deal.

While the technical bits change, and platforms come and go (anyone remember Periscope?) the principles of good marketing stay the same. So relax, we can do this.

Let’s recap those essentials of marketing, and I will show you how I’m using them in my own marketing campaign for my newly released audiobook.

  1. Show, don’t tell

We’ve all heard of ‘show, don’t tell’ — and nowhere has the effectiveness of that been more measurable than in the world of small business.

For example, there’s plenty of market research out there that backs up the theory that ‘showing’ in the form of giving food and drink samples is highly effective in increasing revenue…
