AuDHD and an Empath – Is This Why You Are Burning Out?

The dual diagnosis of Autism and ADHD, being referred to as AuDHD, is a potential lifesaver for those of us in this bracket.

Many people have struggled with a single diagnosis that doesn’t quite cover all their traits, or explain the contradictions in their lives.

People with both are now starting to learn about dual diagnosis, and suddenly their world makes so much sense to them.

The ADHD urge to take on too much, only to later become overstimulated and crash, now has a solid reason underpinning it.

The drive some of us have to work with people and/or in a chaotic role, only to quickly burn out is also starting to make sense.

I have recently made the huge discovery that there are many others like myself in healthcare and therapy roles. We are all high-masking and highly empathic, and we are all overstimulated and at risk of burnout.

Suddenly, I realized why I am so drawn to this caring role that equally fulfills me, and drains the life force from me at the same time.
