We all say that we want more of the good in life. But then how is it that we are so skilled at attracting what we don’t want instead?

The answer is — it’s about where we focus our attention.

In a world filled with uncertainties, we have learned to focus on risk avoidance and preparing for the worst.

But unfortunately, when we do this we are placing our attention on the worst case scenarios. This is turn can attract more bad into our lives.

We end up attracting what we don’t want, when all we meant to do was avoid it, or have a plan to handle that worst case should it occur.

Of course, the answer isn’t to ignore the bad in the world, that would lead to more misery too. The answer is to find a balance. Know how to handle the bad should it come your way, but tip the scales in your favour by expecting the best and putting out the right vibrations.

1. Visualisation

How much time do you spend alone in your head?

Now be honest. How much of that time is spend imagining worst case scenarios, having imaginary arguments or picturing things you are afraid of.

We end up attracting what we don’t want, when all we meant to do was avoid it, or have a plan to handle that worst case should it occur.

Get conscious about this, notice when you are rehearsing a bad outcome, and change it.

This is hard at first and there will be a lot of mental resistance. But like any other new habit, you can get there with persistence. Your mind will be a happier place, and your focus will begin to shift to the positive.

2. Set Clear Intentions

If you don’t know what you want, then you will never achieve it.

Most of us know what we don’t want — then we wonder why we attract that stuff instead.

Decide what you do want, and allow yourself to picture it in your mind regularly.
