I’ve recently been re-reading the book, Activate Your Vagus Nerve, by Dr. Navaz Habib.

This is because I’m heading back into study this year, and don’t want to be struggling for brain power like the last time I was at University.

I did my Bachelor’s degree 10 years ago. Even though I was studying Cognitive Neuroscience at the time, my own brain power was low. My gut health was also very poor. But at the time, I hadn’t realised the two were connected.

The gut is considered to be our second brain. Certainly, the nutrients we consume very much impact the performance of both.

My interest in reading about the vagus nerve, is that this nerve is the communication superhighway between the brain and the gut.

Diet, vagus nerve tone, and indeed our stress levels all play their part in our brain’s performance.

I intend to be a much healthier version of myself going into my Master’s degree this year. Do you want to improve your brain power too?

Here’s how we are doing it…

First of all, let’s throw out any notion of a low fat diet being healthy.
