3 Big Ways We Self Sabotage and How to Change The Game

If you recognise yourself as a self-sabotager, then congratulations because spotting it is half the battle.

The worst problems arise when we are unaware of our self-sabotage, and those damaging behaviours continue to snowball their way through our lives. But when we do become aware, we have the choice to change something.

Here are 3 of the biggest, most common ways that we self sabotage. And with them, 3 ways to change things up for the better.

Hint: It’s not always about trying to force yourself to just change your ways. Sometimes baby steps are more sustainable, and being kind to yourself makes a difference too.

1. Procrastination

Let’s start with a major issue — procrastination. If you are also suddenly struck with the desire to do anything other than the task ahead of you, then you know how powerful that pull is.

Human brains are unfortunately wired to seek out instant gratification. This provides a strong argument for why we want to watch TV, talk to a friend, or read another blog post, instead of getting into the work we know we need to do.
